| Many people wonder how the many
wonderful traditions at Campus Kids started. Hopefully, this journal
might answer some of your questions. |

Frito Pie- It has been enjoyed by campers
since the very first summer of Campus Kids at Centenary College. It
became so popular that some counselors made a skit based on it. When
Campus Kids moved to Blair, it was a must have by Tom on the new menu. |

		| Announcements Song- Brought to
camp by Stu's cousin, this song has become a vital part of every camp
		announcements session. |

		Canteen-Canteen started when
about 100 older campers ordered Chinese food for a midnight snack. The
answer to solve everybody's hunger pangs: canteen! |

		| Campstock- After having a masquerade for
many years, the leadership staff at camp were looking for something
different. At a leadership retreat held in February 2006, it was decided
that there would now be a music and arts festival called Campstock,
which would culminate the summer at camp. |

Stu's Booty Call: This started after
Stu's "Jump Shake Your Booty" skit at a Talent Show turned out so good
that campers wanted an encore! He has been shaking his booty at the end
of every camp show since. |

		| Evening Shade- By its fourth
year of existence, parents were complaining that campers at Campus Kids
had no "down time". Thus, the activity "hang time" was created, which
was later named "Evening Shade",  after the movie of the same name. |

		| Skate park- Skate Park came to be when
our assistant director Jeremy arrived at camp in 1993. He would
rollerblade all around campus, and eventually, it became popular with
the campers.  After a while, a skate park was erected at camp! |

		| Birthday Chant- Stu thought the
normal singing of Happy Birthday was too boring, so the tradition of
		chanting it was born. |

		| As one might notice, most things at camp
were brought over by counselors. This is why having such a fun and
diverse staff makes a world of difference. It is because of them that we
have many of the things we have at camp today! |
